Common questions and answers

Rather than rushing straight  into spells, and the rest of the magic of the craft, I felt it might be helpful to cover a collection of the most common questions we got asked before this section was created, as It may well clear up misunderstandings or questions you have before we move on.

Is witchcraft harmful?

Witchcraft itself is not harmful and our law says we must not harm anyone by using it. Some associated practices like voodoo have become known for harming as well as helping people. The totally honest answer is that it can be used for good or bad, in the same way as you can use a knife and fork for eating your lunch or damaging someone.

Will I fall out with my god or some other power if I become involved in witchcraft

No, some people involved as acting as in betweens may not like you having a direct line, or misinterpret the meaning or our objectives, but if you study what we have said in earlier sections, I think you will see that nothing we say or believe in would be thought wrong by any god or being whatever you call her or him.

I have heard that you worship the devil

No, we don't have a devil, we have only one god(ess). the devil or Satan is a part of the Christian and Jewish religions.

I have been told the bible says you should not let a witch live

There are many interpretations, and some do say that, but the bible also has a long list of death penalties for a whole range of activities that you would accept as normal. With a concordance, that identifies every location of any word, you can just about use the bible to support any point of view, for or against most things. By the way it also has some interesting stories, and histories on the administration and control of people within tribes. You also have to remember that the situation and what is acceptable changes over time, for example if you take either Adam and Eve, or the sons of Noah that went off with their wives in different directions to form tribes, ask yourself how this was done, without anyone sleeping with a mother, father, son, daughter, brother or sister. I had better stop their before I offend someone hadn't I.

If I dabble in witchcraft can I loose control

The effects are not always as you predict, but with basic care and thought, you should not have any major problems. We will show you how to stop everything and cancel out what is happening, so don't worry about this.

On TV demons and all sorts of evil beings are out to kill witches, are they really.

No that's just TV, in the same way on TV that spells are immediate, when  in just about all cases they take quite a time to work. Real witchcraft is great to be involved in, but would make really boring TV.

In the 21st century we all believe in science so how come you can still believe in waco things like witchcraft.

This is not incompatible, many of the greatest minds throughout time and now are interested or involved in what some would refer to as waco areas. In practice real magic and science are very close, the only real difference is often that when we don't know how something works, we are happy for it to be unexplained for the time being, rather than having to try to make up a theory to explain it away. Many of the areas of witchcraft you will also find known under other names like hypnotherapy, physiotherapy, herbalist, aromatherapy etc. We know however how most things work, and use this to control the effects.

I have seen Magic and Majic referred to can you explain the difference.

Some traditions define Magic as that done by conjurers and entertainers, and Majic as what they do. I personally do not see a difference, both forms of magic are about understanding how to make something happen, and in most cases, others cannot understand how it occurred, so I suppose the only difference is  the use entertainment or otherwise. Historically, many centuries ago, the resident healer or wizard would have both cured and entertained people.

I don't have a problem with the science based items that I can understand but don't get the ritual side.

You believe what you have seen or been told about by those you trusted when you were young. You believe what can be explained to you, and if we made up a theory for it, you might then believe it. The problem you and many have is the jump from that which you have seen, or accepted based on information you got when young and that which is now presented that goes against some of what you have already accepted. If you accept the new information, how much of what you thought was true then becomes unsure. You are also aware that in the past you have been tricked, father xmas, tooth fairies, few have sex before marriage, being examples. You are now more cautious of accepting ideas that perhaps once you would.   However if we went through a whole range of topics, you would believe in some, angels, saints, fairies, animals understanding you, plants having feelings, hunting being cruel, politicians serving their country, democracy representing the views of the people, justice being involved in any court case, most convicted people being guilty, prisons reforming people.... the list is endless. The point being that you could accept some of these items yet be unprepared to consider what can be shown to you.

If you cast ten thousand spells or ten thousand people go to lourds or some other healing place won't some miracles just occur by chance. What do you recon your success rate is.

Sure, we understand psychosomatic cures and so do the medical world, and the role of chance. The success rate of witchcraft is difficult to measure as it depends on what you do. For example if took a van that could waft the smell of fresh bread into the street just before lunchtime, I could very reliably make a lot of people feel hungry. If I set up a room for a ceremony and control the mood music and lighting possibly add a smoke machine giving out scented smoke, and most of the people in the room believe, then odd people will quickly believe (and see) the same as the rest. If I took you out on a dark night into a wood, and wandered off leaving you on your own you would most likely be quite jumpy, although logically you know there is nothing there that is going to harm you, and you would be far safer than ina town at night on your own. On the other hand if I tried to turn you into a statue, or a giant frog, I concede that I would be unlikely to be successful. I suppose what I am saying is that there are things that I can do reliably, that would appear magic to you, yet there are also things which I may try which may have a lower success rate, and some things which I think will just not be possible, but perhaps might have been, had I had a more open mind and tried it.
