The magical element WATER

How we see water.

Water is we believe is special, but not holly, we have no objection to you flushing it down the loo etc.

You can experience water in many forms, ice, snow, sleet, liquid, spray, vapor and steam. Those of you who feel vapor and steam are the same will be amazed to put your hand into a cauldron containing pure water and giving off clouds of vapor to find the water is cold or at room temperature. Likewise if you fly on a hand glider, paraglider or parachute through clouds you do not get burnt, just wet.

You can drink it, and without any water you could not live.

You can use it for purifying, ie showering or bath, to clean and prepare food.

You can use it to make things grow, so without it you would have no food, herbs, plants, flowers etc and all the other products from them including around three quarters of medicines.

Without water in our oceans and the cyclic mixing and transportation capabilities our climate would not be maintained and planet would die.

Without water there would be no fish, dolphins whales or other sea creatures.

Water we have in abundance, but  not always the amount of the type we want in each place.

We know that over 70% of the earths surface is covered by water, and if the earth was smoothed it would be over 3 miles deep over the entire surface.

We know that tides are effected by both the sun and far more importantly the moon. They may also be effected by the planets in our system and even some stars beyond.

Water that is warmer comes to the top, until water gets to around 4degrees above freezing when it comes to the top of the warm water, so that cold water and freezing ice always starts from the top to protect life in the oceans, rivers and lakes. Ice floats on water, but ice cubes go to the bottom of a glasses of drink, even water.

Ships can float on water, unless you  spin it around in a certain way, then it no longer will carry items and ships etc sink, as in the Bermuda triangle and  some other areas from time to time.

We could go on for ages, so lets look at its magical properties.

Water and magic

No tradition in witchcraft worships the moon, however the moon is significant in all branches of witchcraft and many other religions.

Witches have special periods within the moon cycle for different types of magic, however it is at the full moon or just after that the coven by tradition meets.

Several things happen at the time of the full moon, including women who who do not control their periods and live away from other energy souses including electricity, ovulate. This is the time when they can naturally conceive. So you might think, back in more ancient times no-one suffering from pre or post menstrual tension, or having a period at the time, would naturally be a good time for the coven to meet, and to party.

Two days after a full or new moon, you have what are called spring tides these are the highest tides of the month, and this is when water witches have very special ritual's such as gateway rituals, converting a witch from one grade to another.

Water has a holographic type of memory, when you divide water, both parts have the same constuents, and don't matter how much you dilute it it still contains the pattern that was added. This of course is the basis of homoeopathy where medicines diluted in water so that they re so week that not a single atom remains is seen to work.  A great advantage for spreading spells etc but not so pleasing to think about for those living in London and where their water been through probably 8 other people, and back through filters into the river, time and again, before it gets down to them.

Water passes information from one small amount into a larger amount.

Water has memory and is effected my magnetic forces. If you pass water through between different magnetic arrangements some features pf the water changes including the surface tension, or what can be carried on the surface. apply magnets to people who are largely water and all sorts of healing and other effects start to show up, but be careful as you can harm as well heal them if you do not know what you are doing.

Ley lines, and the positioning of many sites of importance to all religions, including holly and healing wells, cathedrals and pagan sites are most often at crossing points for underground streams. These underground streams also effect or vary the magnetic pattern around the earth, that are so connected with stone circles and some other older technologies.

When working magic we use water, not only as a major ingredient but as a carrier, this could be in the form of water that is added to a stream, or the ocean or as vapor that is carried in air.

People and water

We are all drawn to water, give people some time off and they want to be near it, either taking their summer vacation at the coast, or winter vacation skiing. Other flock to rivers or onto cannels. The largest number of people involved in any sport is Angling (fishing), and make water available anywhere and you get water sports or tourist attractions. One of the fastest growing leisure areas as people have become better off has been going on cruise ships.

From small children we have all wanted to stamp in puddles, splash in the bath or feed ducks on a pond. If we become wealthy then we get a yacht or cruiser in a marina or boat on a cannel, or a house by a river. Toady more and more gardens have water features from ponds to water falls and fountains, and our ancestors had ponds or the more wealthy large states where the center piece was usually either a lake or major fountain.

Swimming pools, healing baths, spa towns, healing rivers, springs wells and other places, and in many traditions burial involving scattering the ashes into flowing water, and visiting sacred rivers. Think of Romans and you think of their magnificent baths, currently cannels are being built father than at any point in history in Britain. There are now more brands of bottled drinking water than wine. Water is fundamental to our lives.

People are attracted constantly to water.

History

You will find many thousands of references to heeling springs and wells, and sacred rivers etc, in this country and more around the world. When you come however to track down these legends you find that in most cases it involves more than the water, there were other ingredients in their ancient rituals. You will find many where strips of cloth soaked in the water after doing something is hung on bushes in the air, or burnt. Of having to lay by, or on a stone, or pass around it in a particular way, maybe being submerged or partly submerged for a period, often laying on a stone river bed. You will also find the water in sometimes after a ritual considered to have changed in some way, for example the Christian communion where wine is said to turn to blood, and people then brink it. Witches don't drink blood, but we do drink water, and wine.

The Romans were as famous for their baths, often located at healing springs as for their straight roads, and many towns in Britain are still known as spa towns from the period when spas were the in thing, and taking the waters was the thing to do, even if you did not have a problem.

According to the old testament that is the basis of the Jewish and Christian beliefs and came out of an older religion, you can read within the first few lines of the first book that god used water as the basis of the magic to create all things including light.

Water is also used by most belief systems, the Christians use it for baptism and christening, in India they go into sacred rivers, and lords and many other healing places involve water. Some what are called new age areas involve water, such as giving birth actually in water, or symbolically re-birthing through water. It would be probably impossible to find any belief system from our early ancestors or the Egyptians to modern day where water was not a major feature.

In the center of the great stone circle at Avebury, is a thatched pub, inside one of the rooms a old well dating back before the thatched building has been discovered and is on show. Others had previously suggested that the arrangement of water, rivers etc around Avebury was one of the keys to the site, and silbury hill, the large man mad mound nearby, has an area around it designed to contain water, and even today many thousands of years later for much of the winter water can be seen.

Water as a medicine

Doctors tell us we should all drink more water, in hospital after operations they want you do do one thing more than any other drink water. Many models and actresses who's appearance is critical to them will never be seen without a bottle of water nearby.

Recently a number of discoveries have been made showing that drinking water will remove many headaches, remove or prevent cramp, and drinking water is starting to be installed in schools as it can be shown that children who regularly drink water thought the day concentrate more, are happier and benefit in many other ways.

Many cures for skin complains and folk remedies for muscle strain involves a soak in a warm bath. We all today realize how much better we feel after a shower.

As far as drinking water is concerned many of us use filter jugs to take out a lot of the chemicals and other muck that is fed to us through our water supplies, and the number of bottled waters available must match the number of number of wine labels, each with their own claims, tastes and additives, if natural ones.

Magnetic properties and patterns that can be held we have covered above. Often this is classed as vibration medicine.

If you split water into its components oxygen and hydrogen you have a very explosive mixture, and hydrogen can and is being used for powering vehicles and most analysts suggest will be powering all vehicles with 50 years, when burnt in an engine hydrogen just gives off water vapor, therefore ending much of the pollution in cities and near roads. Later this could be condensed and re-cycled. there have been several designs for water powered engines without splitting it first, but these have been bought out or suppressed in other ways. The amount of hydrogen that it takes to fuel a hydrogen bomb, the greatest destructive force we know, can be held in a standard sized balloon.

Many scientists believe that everything started with pure hydrogen, and oxygen was the first other element formed out of it, making water the first physical item that could be seen, had you been around at the time, although I will not try to give you their explanation, but if it interests you, you should be able to find it elsewhere. Some people believe that everything has a link through hydrogen,  and some that hydrogen is the link to or even is  the creator and superior power. We are not commenting on any of this just reporting it.

If you put water through a certain type of spiral, it changes, it even tastes different and feels different, this water is useful for some spells.

Water is also the key to understanding levitation........

Water you will not be surprised is a subject we could devote a complete web site to, however here we need to stop for now, but you will find it mentioned everywhere just about everywhere within this site.

From most traditions from ancient Greeks to today water is the most important and powerful of all the elements, and very near to the spirit.

One final fact is that new born humans are 97% water.

Water is the element to the west of the magic circle.
