The Christian/Jewish Satan god, is not a part of traditional witchcraft or any other path we are aware of, and to believe in it you first have to become a Christian and rebel.
With the Water Witches philosophy we have nothing similar, and no entity that looks like, acts like or could in any other way be associated with this character.
Misinformed people are led to believe that we have in some way a connection with this. character which we look on as a character of fiction as we do Harry Potter and many other characters from books.
However before dismissing it completely, it may be helpful to look at how we view the same topic areas.
We have two competing views the traditional view is that evil is the result of what individual misguided people may do, or the effect of gangs, groups and other collective groups that will do things collectively that individually they would feel was wrong. By this means we get a twisted view of what is acceptable or an excuse for acting in a less than ideal way or looking the other way while others continue activities.
The fact that an alternate entity can be blamed, and people saved from it, and forgiven allows them to get off light compared to our beliefs of cause and effect, where good or bad actions we do are returned 3 fold.
The alternative view presented quite recently is that ‘god gives advice based on his/her/its view of the world, while we live with a society with a separate view or set of rules, laws. Politics, pressure groups, and media presented views. The area of advice that falls into what is acceptable by god and not by society, is attributed to coming from Satan’
While pagans generally get advice and have a choice as to which advice we take and have to filter it to suit our society etc, some Christians perhaps take everything as instructions and therefore have had to find another way to get out of following some advice. You may come across some extremists in some religions, who suggest that any belief except theirs, and often even the single church or group they participate in within the religion is agents of Satan.
However you view evil or Satan, the one point to remember is that Satan is a part of the Christian and Jewish faith and not a part of ours or in any way connected with us.
